Check a PDF before uploading it to an application

Before uploading a PDF to an application portal, check its file size, page count and whether it opens without a password. PDFEazy checks those properties against limits you enter. It does not submit the file or guarantee that a portal will accept it.

Use the portal’s actual requirements

  1. Read the upload instructions on the receiving website.
  2. Choose Check submission limits in PDFEazy and select your PDF.
  3. Enter the maximum file size and page count. For example, enter 2 MB and 20 pages only when those are the requirements.
  4. Run the check. Review failed limits and inspect the PDF visually before uploading it yourself.

What does “within your selected limits” mean?

It means the bytes and pages fit the numbers you entered, and the PDF parser opened the file without a password. File size is compared in decimal megabytes: 1 MB is 1,000,000 bytes. A receiving service may measure size differently or enforce additional rules.

Why can a PDF still be rejected?

A portal can require a specific PDF version, PDF/A, accessible structure, exact page dimensions, an unencrypted file, a particular filename or a valid digital signature. PDFEazy does not certify those requirements. Check the portal’s own instructions and keep the original signed document.

My file is too large. What next?

If permitted, remove unneeded pages with Make a PDF or export photos at a smaller resolution in your image editor. Recheck the finished PDF. This release does not promise compression to an exact target size.
